Off the Beaten Track Oxford River Cruise

Oxford River Cruises £29

Take a trip down the tranquil Thames as you explore areas of Oxford off the beaten track on this river boat journey from Oxford River Cruises. The tour sets sail from Folly Bridge in Oxford city centre, travelling upstream past quaint residential suburbs before reaching Binsey and majestic Port Meadow. It’s the calm and relaxed way to see the beautiful and intriguing scenery of this outstanding city. Port Meadow is an area of vast common land, which has remained much the same since pre-historic times. At the top of Port Meadow sits the hamlet of Godstow, which inspired Alice Liddell and Lewis Carroll when they composed Alice's Adventures in Wonderland on an identical Oxford boating trip. And it’s also the site of Trout Island, an inspiration for stories of the land of Narnia.
